Greetings, denizens of Reddit!

Hallo, Reddit!

We saw Reddit’s super-generous opportunity for free ads for non-profits, and wanted to give it a try to promote our little Ignite Phoenix event.

Ignite Phoenix is an idea sharing event intended to give regular people a chance to get on stage and share what they’re excited/passionate/jazzed about for 5 minutes. This is not a networking event. We don’t want pitches or your personal motivational manifesto. It’s all about learning cool and interesting things, and having fun doing it.

We want to hear about your hobbies, your quirks, or your obsessions (other than bacon, narwhals, etc.). We’ve had everything from Taiko drumming to What happens to your body when you die to Building model Gundam robots. We have over 200 videos from past presenters if you need even more inspiration. If you’ve got the eccentric, lets hear it!

We select 18 talks from all the submissions, and those people go on stage in Scottsdale on October 28th. We bring in food trucks, music, and generally have a really good time. You can submit your idea until Friday, September 23rd. You have to be in the Phoenix area to present, and it has to be at most a PG-13 topic. (We have Ignite Phoenix After Hours for the Rated R+ stuff)

This is the chance to get up and share the wacky stuff you never seem to get enough Upvotes for. Submit your idea here!

Not in Phoenix?

We couldn’t target this ad to just people in Phoenix, so if you’re not local and this looks interesting, check out other Ignites around the world at the Ignite Show. You can also watch the event streamed at IgnitePhoenix.com on October 28th at 6:30pm PT.

Want to come?

If you want to attend, tickets will go on sale October 8th at 10am. The event always sells out, so make sure to grab them that day.

Either way, thanks for checking us out, and carry on!
