If you attended Ignite Phoenix #12 a few weeks back, you’re likely the proud owner of the fifth and final edition of the Ignite Phoenix Mix Tape project.  The album contains the music of a few Arizona greats including Austin Gibbs, This Century, Brian Lopez and Sister Cities along with 16 other talented local acts.  This album marks the completion of a two-year project that has put five compilation albums jam-packed with homegrown Arizona music into the hands of thousands of Ignite Phoenix attendees.

If you missed Ignite #12 and want to hear what all the noise is about, you’re in luck!  We have just launched Ignite Phoenix Music where you can download a digital copy of not only this album, but all five albums (That’s 60 local artists!) in the Ignite Phoenix Mix Tape series.  It’s like a limited-edition box set, except it won’t collect dust and you can download it as many times as you’d like!

Music fans also have one last chance to indulge in the local sonic offerings of this music project.  This Saturday evening Ignite Phoenix is teaming up with Stinkweeds to present a local music showcase featuring What Laura Says, Steff Koeppen & The Articles and Sareena Dominguez.  All three of these artists have appeared on an edition of the Ignite Phoenix Mix Tape and we’re excited they’re back to celebrate the completion of this project.  Stinkweeds was also a generous sponsor of the mix tapes, so we’re stoked they’re allowing us to take over their record store with live music, videos of some of our favorite Ignite presentations and … gourmet hot dogs.  (Yeah, you heard me!)  For more information on the event, check out the event page on Facebook.  Hope to see you there!
