Two weeks have passed since Ignite Phoenix #9 and we hope the latest batch of presentations have continued to provoke passion and inspire action in your lives. And how about that second installment of the official Ignite Phoenix mix tape? Well, we’re keeping our fingers crossed you discovered some fresh tunes and have become fans of a few of these Arizona artists that have been gaining momentum across our state.
We’ve chosen to integrate music into Ignite Phoenix because of the vital role it plays in our community. Music has the ability to transcend sheer entertainment; its rhythms and melodies help to weave the fabric that defines a place and time. It provides a solid foundation that defies language and cultural boundaries, connecting us to our city and our neighbors. And on top of all of that, it’s just plain fun.
If you missed the event or loaned your CD to a friend who refuses to give it back because it’s just That Good, you can download it entirely free here. If you’re loving what you hear, check out some suggested venues and local show listings where you can find these artists and many equally fantastic locals performing across the Phoenix Valley.
We challenge you to do something new before we see all of your pretty faces back at Ignite Phoenix #10 (The countdown has begun!). We want you to seek out a show of one of the artists below and observe them in their natural habitat (ie. rocking socks, faces, etc. off at a local venue) and support local music by purchasing a CD, a t-shirt or maybe just by giving them a good hug in exchange for making our city a more enjoyable place.
- The Technicolors
- Gospel Claws
- Small Leaks Sink Ships
- Telescope
- Dry River Yacht Club

Lastly, another super special thanks to all the bands that contributed to the album, Brain Carson who mastered the tracks, Andy at Tempe Tape & Disc who helped us with duplication and the whole team at Splinter Creative who designed our “love letter” program and CD face.
